About Me

Small Animal Boarder

Hi, my name is Rachael and I’ve always loved animals and giving them the best life possible.  I have a background in Psychology and Animal Behaviour, and have Veterinary Practice experience.  I have volunteered at dog rescue centres and even fostered many kittens through the Cats Protection League.

My first pet when I was a little girl was an earthworm called 'Herman'!  Various slugs and snails followed and then I found 'Basil', a beautiful common toad who lived for many years!

Throughout my life I have owned and loved hamsters, mice, tree frogs, fire bellied toads, lizards, axolotls, a short-tailed Opossum, a cockatiel, stick insects and a house rabbit.

Today I live happily on a farm steading in Falkirk with my husband, two children, a beautiful friendly dog, a cuddly Siamese/Ragdoll cat, 3 rare breed Soay rams, hens and ducks.

I have converted one of our rooms in our house to provide specialist care for rodents, reptiles and amphibians, insects and other exotic pets.

Below are some pets that have been boarding with us, along with some of my own pets from over the years :-)

You are welcome to visit for a chat before booking, just call, text or email to arrange!

“Broom Farm Small Animal Retreat is amazing. It's not easy to find someone who is great with pets and also attuned to their owners needs.”
